Abstract：In recent years, China has paid more and more attention to the protection of intangible cultural heritage, and the working policy of "protection first, rescue first, rational use, inheritance and development" has greatly alleviated the difficulties encountered in the process of intangible cultural heritage inheritance. In the protection of intangible cultural heritage, the government and related departments play an important leading role, and the focus of its work from the rescue protection of nonlegacy to the overall protection. As the first national intangible cultural heritage of China, Tangshan shadow play is a valuable treasure for the people of the whole country. unique views, but the Tangshan shadow play related protection research content is relatively scattered, lack of holistic protection concept guidance. This research will take the Tangshan shadow play as the research object, from the shadow play inheritance system (including the shadow play inheritor, the shadow props production and the performance and the shadow play inheritance way) and the shadow play place external environment (including the government level and the audience group level), analyzes the Tangshan shadow play inheritance present situation and the question which exists in the inheritance, takes the "integrity protection" idea as the instruction, points out the direction for the Tangshan shadow play future protection inheritance work.
